# Stopping the PDI design tools

Here are the basic methods for stopping the PDI design tools:

* Stop the PDI client by clicking on the **X** icon in upper corner, or from the **File** menu.
* Stop Carte from the command line interface or URL.
* Stop Pan and Kitchen from the command line interface.
