# Change your password

Users can change their passwords in the User Console if the server is configured with Pentaho security.

Perform the following steps to change your password:

1. Click the user menu and select **Change Password**.
2. In the Change Password dialog box, enter your existing password in the **Old Password** field.
3. Enter your new password in the **New Password** and **Confirm Password** fields and click **OK**.

   **Note:** If the **Change Password** command does not appear on the user menu, then clear your browser cache and try again.

   Your password is changed.
