Process overview
You will complete the following tasks to prepare a Linux environment for a manual installation of the Pentaho Server. This process includes setting up the correct directory structure, ensuring proper tools are in place, and then downloading and unpacking the Pentaho installation files.
Note: If you have already installed a web application server, you can skip Step 4 of this process.
Create the Pentaho Server.
Create Linux Directory Structure.
Install Java.
Install Your Web Application Server.
Intall the Database that will Host the Pentaho Repository.
Download and Unpack the Installation Files.
