# Required software and accounts

To install Pentaho Data Mastering, you must install the following required software and set up required accounts:

* On the computer that you use for the installation process, you must install a file transfer tool, like the PuTTY client, so that you can communicate with the Pentaho Data Mastering server.
* On the server where you plan to install Pentaho Data Mastering, you must first install the following software:
  * One of the following operating systems: Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS, or RHEL OS.
  * The Docker runtime and Docker Compose tool.
* To download files and drivers needed for the installation process, you must have one of the following accounts:
  * If you are installing Pentaho Data Mastering while connected to the internet, you must have an active JFrog Artifactory account.
  * If you are installing Pentaho Data Mastering without connecting to the internet, you must have a download link and access code to access HCP Anywhere, which is provided to you by Hitachi Vantara. If you were not provided with a download link and access code, contact support to request a download link and access code.
