Install PDI tools and plugins
You can integrate your data by using Pentaho Data Integration (PDI) to develop and deploy ETL programs. Use the PDI client (also known as Spoon) and several PDI utilities and plugins to develop ETL programs.
Install the PDI client by downloading its ZIP file and extracting the contents into the appropriate directory. If you plan to connect to a Hadoop cluster or use a Pentaho Data Service, you must also download the supplemental ZIP file and extract it into the corresponding directory.
After you install the PDI client, you can use the Plugin Manager to install plugins. If you have the Pentaho User Console (PUC) installed, you can also use it to install plugins. See Step 4: Install PDI plugins for further details.
